A charity donation to ride with DBR.

Lisa attended a charity event and bid for a Harley Davidson ride with www.ridetheworld.com.au which I supplied. Let's say Lisa's sense of adventure was greater on the night and in the cool reality of the next day she realised what she had done.

When you buy something you have to use it and so the time came for Lisa to contact me and organise her 2 hour ride.

Lisa is a nurse in ER and so we had to arrange the day around her shifts and that day was today.

Lisa said she had been worrying about the ride for 3 days prior. The first 35 minutes it feel like Lisa was still worrying about it then, everything fell into place and Lisa started to enjoy the experience. Maybe it was my tour guiding with points of interest or just the gentle cruising pace we were taking.

At our first stop at Bald Hill, it would be an understatement to say Lisa was happy as she wouldn't stop smiling. We had also had a few laughs through the Bluetooth communication along the way.

The first stop and we change seats.
Now with my yes closed, I get to keep the bike and learn to ride.
Soon to be back on the road.
So that's the road we will be on in one hour's time.
OK, enough of the sitting around, let's ride.
One last photo of the view South over Stanwell Park and onto Wollongong and Beyond.

We gear up again and are soon on to the next stop. We travelled back to the old Princes Highway and turned south. A the Sublime Point turn off we take another left turn for coffee and Devonshire Tea.
Lisa passed on a coffee and it took some convincing to get her to share the Devonshire Tea.
This I thought strange as Lisa comes from Devon and I know devon, which is a cold meat to Australians is unknown in Devon. But Devonshire tea? I would have thought would be almost like a home cooked meal and would be almost craved by someone from Devon.
The world is just full of surprises.

We arrived at Sublime Point and enjoyed the view on such a glorious day. Of course we needed a picture or 2.

Welcome to the Illawarra.
The journey will soon continue down to the coast.
The road home is down there, somewhere.
Post the coffee and food stop, we are back on the bike for the ride down Bulli Pass then north along the coast including a ride over the Sea Cliff Bridge. We return to the Old Princes Highway and the Princes Highway back to the Shire. Sutherland Shire not Devonshire.

As a final note, Lisa was asking about learning to ride. Was it obvious that if I can do it anyone can or what was the really reason, just getting out of the road and enjoying life?

If Lisa does return for another ride or she needs more information about getting her licence, you will read about it in future posts.

So where did we go?
