DBR's 'Bike-It List' Ride for 2016 - Nepal and Tibet - 13 to 29 September 2016

After over 43 years of riding, the time has come for DBR to ride in Tibet.
DBR has been in the Travel Industry for 38 years yet Tibet has evaded him but not so in coming September as he travels on a 17 day trip to fulfill this dream and would like you to join him.

So what’s planned?


13 and 14 Sep: We fly Australia to Kathmandu in Nepal on Singapore Airlines and their regional airline Silk Air.
When we arrive at Kathmandu when are met by our local guide and taken to our hotel  [Hotel Tibet  (or similar)]  for a briefing on the journey with Welcome Drinks.

15 Sep: Our first full day on the ground and we will soon be riding but the morning we have a look around Kathmandu with our guide. In the afternoon we meet our Royal Enfields with another briefing about riding in Nepal and Kathmandu. (Breakfast)  [Hotel Tibet (or similar)]  

16 Sep: We ride out of town and head for Nyalam via Zhangmu. Today we cross into Tibet with all the paperwork handled by our guides so we can concentrate on the joys of riding. (Breakfast and Dinner) [Ardung Hotel]

17 Sep: Nyalam to Tingri. Today we will have, if weather permits our first sighting of Mt Everest. Breakfast and Dinner) [Ganga Hotel]

18 Sep: Tingri to Lhatse. We will breathe deep when we passing through ‘Gyatso La’ (5220 metres) Pass which takes us to Lhatse. (Breakfast and Dinner) [Farmer's Hotel]

19 Sep: Lhatse to Shigate via Syaka. It’s Monastery Day as we visit Sakya and Tashilumo Monasteries as we continue our ride through Tibet. (Breakfast and Dinner) [Shigatse Yak Hotel or Mansarover Hotel]

20 Sep: Shigate to Lhasa via Gyantse.  More history along the journey with Dzong Castle where the Tibetans fought the British. Breakfast and Dinner) [Hotel Gyanggen (or similar)]

21 and 22 Sep: Lhasa. We explore and experience Lhasa. For those who like to get involved,  you may be able get involved in at Gelugpa Monastery. (Breakfast and Dinner) [Hotel Gyanggen (or similar)]

23 Sep: Lhasa to Shigatse. Back on the road or is it a riverbed on our return to Nepal. (Breakfast and Dinner) [Shigatse Yak Hotel or Mansarover Hotel]

24 Sep: Shigate to Xegar. We travel back through ‘Gyatso La’ (5220 metres) today. (Breakfast and Dinner) [Everest View Hotel or Qomolangma Hotel]

25 Sep: Xegar to Rongbuk. We will visit Everest Base Camp (5220 metres) today. (Breakfast and Dinner) [Monastery Guest House]

26 Sep: Rongbuk to Nyalam via Old Tringri. Today we pass through 2 passes.  ‘Lablung La’ (5120 metres) and ‘Thong La’ Pass and a see a spectacular of the North Front of the Himalaya range. (Breakfast and Dinner) [Ardung Hotel]

27 Sep: Nyalam to Kathmandu via Zhangmu. It’s downhill from here as we descend 1300 metres in 90 minutes of riding 35 kilometres.  Border crossing as we return to Nepal. We return the Royal Enfields, some final wandering around Kathmandu and an evening dinner to relive the adventure with your riding companions and new found friends. 28 to 29 Sep: We return home to Australia to share the adventure with family and old friends.

Prices:

Per person Twin Share ex Sydney / Brisbane $7230.00 PLUS taxes/levies of approx $840.00 *

* Prices based on minimum 16 riders. If there are between 10 and 15 riders the prices are:

Single Room Supplement $814.00 (subject to availability)
Tour will not proceed with less than ten persons.  Taxes/levies subject to change.

General Terms and Conditions per an InterAsia Booking Form apply PLUS it must be understood that the prices above are subject to rise and fall due to exchange rate movements before final payment.

Inclusions:

·         Return economy class airfares flying Singapore Airlines and Silk Air PLUS taxes/levies.
·         Arrival and Departure Airport transfer in a private coach, accompanied by an English speaking representative.
·         Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu as per the itinerary with a private vehicle and English speaking guide.
·         Hotels / Guest House in Tibet on double/triple bedded sharing room with daily Breakfast & Dinner at Hotels / Guesthouses OR local restaurants on enroute stopovers (in Tibet) inclusive of all applicable govt. taxes
·         Hire motorcycle 500cc Royal Enfield,  maintenance charges and spare parts of bikes, fuel and engine oil top up (Whichever applicable) for the entire trip
·         Tibet/China visa fees and permit fees
·         All entry fees to the sites and monasteries for both Motorcycles  and members
·         Everest Conservation fee for riders, motorcycles, Crews and vehicle
·         All necessary Tibet entry and road permits,
·         Motorcycle custom entry fee at China custom
·         Temporary Motorcycle license and driving license,
·         One Local Tibetan English speaking guide and Nepalese mechanic and assistant mechanic, their accommodation, insurance, meals and daily wages.
·         Back up support Truck to carry support staff and rider’s personal baggage / gear, guide from Tibet.
·         Deposit Amount paid to Chinese Custom.
·         Oxygen supply will be carried with group (in case it is needed)
·         Gratuities for guides, drivers, back up Team

Exclusions:

·         Nepal entry & and re-entry of  US$40.00 for 30 days upon arrival at the Kathmandu airport or Nepal Border.
·         Sleeping bag and warm jacket, personal biking clothing including Helmets
·         Photography charges for still and Video cameras at Monasteries in Tibet
·         Travel insurance that provides for Emergency and Evacuation costs, travel / medical insurance / Personal insurance of the riders on 500cc machines – MUST HAVE (InterAsia can quote)
·         Any extra cost in the event of  landslides or other natural calamities, interruptions/diversions beyond our control
·         Cancellation fee if there is unforced situation, Politically disturbance any region or Visa rejected by Chinese Embassy
·         Beverages and personal expense of any kind
·         Any other meals or services not specifically included herein.
