Matilda the Muscial. Sydney Lyric Theatre.

I had the good fortune to attend a performance of Matilda the Musical.

When walking from the city to the Sydney Lyric Theatre via the Pyrmont Bridge here are some of the sights you may see.

The South Steyne
I remember when as a child I used to catch the South Steyne from Sydney's Circular Quay to Manly with my parents on tripd to my aunt's apartment.
The noise of the engine and smell of oil as you leaned over the handrail and looked down into the engine room. What boy didn't want to spend some time working there?
Her history can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_South_Steyne
Her current life as a Restaurant at http://www.southsteyne.com.au/index1.htm

The James Craig
Though here she is at port, you can discover more at  www.shf.org.au/explore-the-fleet/our-operational-vessels/james-craig-1874-tall-ship/

Another Sailing Ship in Port.
A floating restaurant passes the James Craig on it's way into Darling Harbour.
CLS 4 Carpentaria
Found lurking or moored in the darkness, the CLS 4 Carpentaria Lightship.
Though as its light is extinguished it is currently a darkship.

Almost in the theatre.
Getting closer.
So what was Matilda the Musical like?

It was to me, a trip back to childhood. I am glad to say it is nothing like the childhood I had but you cannot help get caught up in story of Matilda and those around her.

Where you are 6 to 90, there is something for you in the show. Beware though is runs for 2 hours and 40 minutes with a 20 minute intermission which is time enough to buy a Choc Top to bring substance to the childhood memories.

Choc Tops 5 flavours at $5.00 each.
Just so you know I was there.

If you choose to stay in the theatre during the intermission, you will be entertained.
I am saying nothing as I try not to be a spoiler.

I have added the details for you to see the details.

Remember to put $5.00 in your pocket for a Choc Top.
